Card of the Day- May 21, 2012

The Hanged Man

What forgiveness are you overdue for providing? Think about this. The Hanged Man is often seen as the card of surrendering. What does this mean exactly? It means to let go of your notions of what should be and what must be. It means to accept what things you can not change as they are and not let your ego make the decisions as to how it should be. As we want things to be is often not how they really are or will ever be. To accept this and adjust our view of it and our attitude is to settle into peace. With that said, in what areas of life do you feel somebody has wronged you? Examine this. Realize that it is time to let go of whatever anger is a residue of this past pain. Let it go. It’s over. Be done with it. Free that space within yourself that the anger occupies for more positive and meaningful energies. Once you begin, it gets easier to do. Simply begin. Simply let go of the negative feelings. Forgive. Let The Hanged Man be your guide in this.

Ace of Swords

Surround yourself with positive thinkers as much as you can today. Thoughts, as you no doubt have figured out by now, have an odd tendency to become our reality. By virtue of that fact that thoughts are also contagious- that is to say they have a way of spreading from one person to another by the simple act of verbal and vibrational osmosis, is it not true that we take on the thoughts and ideas of others as our own? This is particularly true of weak and insecure people who seek validation by forcing their thoughts onto others with the intention of forcing an agreement. This is also true of weak and insecure people who are unsure and mistrusting of their ability to come up with a good idea of their own, so they latch onto the ideas of others without necessarily evaluating their validity and pertinence to their own situation. So, that said, trust your ability to conjure positive thoughts, as you really do have the power. Surround yourself with others who do the same. Together, the reality you create will be one well worth living in.

2 of Swords

You can’t be shy today. Don’t back down from what you need to communicate. You may feel intimidated by others, but this all in your mind. You are equal to them. Stand your ground. What you have to say is important, so make sure you are heard. Speaking your mind will open the channel for conversation and discussion. Listen to what others have to say in response and give it consideration. Through this, a meeting of the minds will occur and in the best case scenario, synergy will be produced. In the worst case scenario, you will be disregarded. But even so, it is now known that you are somebody with ideas and that these ideas are worth at least considering. Whatever is on your mind, speak it!

Don’t try to change people

Too often, one may view the unique characteristics of another and feel that these are things to be “changed.” These unique characteristics however are the intrinsic truth of this person. This produces disharmony both in this person who the change is imposed upon and the person endeavoring to do the changing. Acceptance of who a person is is the only way to achieve true harmony. With yourself, for when it is your aim to change a person, you are creating powerful expectations that go unmet, of course, create frustration. Frustration is a form of anger. Anger is a destructive force. This is so.

Card of the Day- May 18, 2012

3 of Swords

This card looks painful, doesn’t it? 3 swords stabbed through the heart. Not a pretty sight. What you see in this card pretty well sums it up Pain. Heartache. Sadness. You know what? These things happen to us all. Does have it have to define us? Absolutely not. When we observe our sadness  without reacting to it, when we watch where it is going and where it came from, we can learn lessons from it. Ask yourself, “Where did this pain originate?” Then trace it back to its source. You will be amazed at all the places you can get past it, get around it. It might even become funny to you that your reaction to the initial event was sadness or pain. This is when you remember to laugh. Find the humor in the situation, remind yourself that you are bigger than it is, and proceed with your head held high. Nothing can get you down that you don’t let get you down, so allow for the humor of a situation to permeate.

4 of Wands

It is time to receive your congratulations. You’ve earned it. You deserve it. Following your impulses, your brilliance, your ideas, has paid off. You didn’t listen to anybody (external or internal) who told you what you can not or should not do. You’ve listened to your own inner-guidance system and it has lead you to a very good place. If nobody else will do it, pat your self on the back. Celebrate. If nobody will celebrate with you, celebrate by yourself for yourself. It is important to mark milestones on your journey. They mark your achievements and your accomplishments. It may be that these are entirely invisible to anybody but you, but how does that matter? It doesn’t. This is YOUR life. This is YOUR journey. You know what constitutes an achievement to you as a unique human being, so celebrate these achievements! Reflect on where you have been and where you are and offer a toast to yourself. You richly deserve it.

Meditation

So often, we push thoughts away because we do not want to face them, but if we allow these thoughts to waft through our consciousness like the wisps of smoke from an incense stick, we may be opened to great insights and knowings.

Meditation is not to clear your mind, but to dissolve the blocks that allow whatever thoughts or impulses to naturally flow to you. It is important that whatever comes to you, from whatever place inside of you, that you give it the space it needs. Look at the impulse. Read it. Feel it. Get to know it. What can it tell you? What can you learn from it. Can you identify where it came from? Where it came from may be a clue as to what it has for you. Even if it feels uncomfortable to you, stay with it. None are for nothing. There is something in it for your ultimate benefit.

The Moon Card and Worry

Do you sometimes go to sleep at night with a worry on your mind, or a feeling of stress and you find it nearly impossible to fall asleep, and when you do fall asleep, you don’t sleep so good, and you end up waking up in the middle of the night with this worry on your mind? This is one way that the moon card manifests in your life. Chances are, while you lie awake with this stress on your mind, you can conceive a multitude of doom and gloom scenarios, swearing that you will take a most drastic measure in reaction to it. And then you finally drift off to sleep, even if only for a couple of hours. When you wake up after these couple of hours of sleep, the worry and stress do not seem so relevant any more. Things are certainly different in the light of the moon. When our mind is fixated on the doom and the gloom, we see only the darkness. Be careful of the decisions you make under the influence of the moon, for once the moon passes and the sun shines again, you will see illumination in those moon shadows. Always be mindful of the moon shadows. That fear, that worry, that stress you feel that keeps you from sleeping, these are demons of the moon shadows. They may only be conjurances of your imagination, but they are very real. To react to them without first shining light onto them to illuminate them can be costly, for when you react to problem that is not real, you may only be creating problems that were not there to begin with, and now you have a real problem to deal with.

The Lovers

There will be those days when you must instigate some adversity. That’s just reality. We all have to be the bad guy once in awhile. Not everybody can have their own way every time. Sometimes we are the bearer of bad news. Sometimes we have to disappoint somebody.  Sometimes we must let people down. Today, however, is not one of those days. This is a day of harmony. Today, there will be good vibes and harmony. Seek this out. Be a promoter of peace and harmony. It will flow easily today. Simply begin in your own way, and watch it become an epidemic.

Religion

Religion is man’s attempt to make sense of his/her own personal connection to God, the Universe, our own higher self within the context of human form. How can we be a part of God when we are separate from him here on the earth in these human, very limited bodies? Religion is man’s attempt to answer that question. The truth is, we are not separate. We only feel that way because of the boundaries and limitations placed on us by human form. Religion is but an organized way of feeling this connection. It can also be a celebration of this connection. It is an opportunity to come together as humans and celebrate the spirit within, celebrate our connection to God, The Divine, The Universe, however you choose or have been conditioned to define it. In its best sense, in this way, religion can be a positive and good thing. It is a collective experience based on a culture’s experiences and circumstances. An island culture will no doubt experience God differently that a mountain culture, simply based on what aspects of creation they witness daily. When religion becomes co-opted by those wanting personal glory and power and seek this by instigating mind control in the name of God that religion can be corrupted. When thoughts of God and views of God become so rigid and unbending, troubles arise. We must remain open to new ideas and new approaches to our relationship with God. Then, religion can evolve along with humanity and more peace will be evident on the planet. It is important to look beyond your own beliefs, to test them, to find opportunities to test them to see if they hold up under scrutiny, whatever your belief may be. Appreciate the viewpoints of others, especially when they are very different from your own, for with them you have the chance to explore what is in the shadows of your own beliefs. What have you flinched away from in your system of belief? Face it head on and develop your own truth and your own personal connection to your God. This is all part of the evolution of the human species, to personalize our connection to our Divine source.
