Tarot Ethics Statement
by Jim Larsen
I believe tarot should be used to find and reinforce the positive aspect of life, and not as an excuse or opportunity to dwell in the negative.
I believe tarot should be used to identify blockages that are holding us back from our highest potential and greatest good. Once these blockages are identified, a way past them should be identified.
I believe every reading should be done with honesty and compassion, and that nothing the reader is understanding should be withheld.
I believe that every reading is unique unto itself and flexibility must be employed for the sake of providing the answers that the querent is seeking. This means deviating from fixed and rigid spreads.
I believe that intuition will provide stronger answers than any book meaning for any given card.
I believe in spending as much time with a querent as necessary to provide answers, and not basing a reading on a time limit.
I believe inĀ building trust through confidentiality.
I will not misrepresent what I am able to do with tarot. I do not claim to see the future. I use tarot to help querents look within. Based on what we understand about what is within, the querent can better craft the future of their own desires.
I believe in empowering querents to make decisions for themselves and use tarot as a means to “check in” with themselves every so often. I believe that no one should become reliant on tarot or any psychic services or divination systems.
I believe in accepting payment for a reading only if the querent is satisfied with the results.
This is excellent, I really like this page on the tarot ethics. Too many readers prey on the weakness of others and I like your sense of empowering the querent with the positive aspects found in the cards. Thank you for posting!
