Card of the Day- November 14, 2012

The Devil

This happens. We put up shields to keep away unwanted energy when we are going through a difficult or unpleasant time. We put a lot of energy into dealing with whatever this unpleasantness is. In putting our energy into this, we neglect other aspects of our self. These aspects gets pushed down and neglected. Often, this may be the ability to to have happiness and connect with other people. Well guess what happens?  You deal with whatever these problems were, and then these forgotten aspects reemerge. They begin to bubble to the surface, and they feel odd and foreign to you. They have been pushed to the shadows, and now they come to the light. Coax these out of the shadows. Let them become part of your whole again. This is to be complete. You will beam a new kind of energy that others will be attracted to. You will feel empowered, strong, and complete.

The Devil

What is bubbling to the surface of your consciousness today? Don’t deny it, whatever it is. Is it uncomfortable? Yes? Good. Time to face it. For so long, you have denied this. You have suppressed it. You have pushed it down, not wanting to face it. But it didn’t go away, did it? No, it didn’t. If it did, you would not be facing it again today. So what’s the solution? The solution is to deal with it once and for all. Experience fully whatever it is. Get it out of your system. Let it integrate. Let it become a natural part of you. Once you do this, it will not feel so foreign and uncomfortable. You will not feel bothered by it, and you will have a greater sense of ease. This is one of the things that the Devil card is about. It is about dealing with the uncomfortable aspects of our self. It is about exploring what we keep hidden in the shadows, not wanting to accept. But when we are able to accept, we can then integrate. Once integrated, we are much more whole. So, explore, accept, integrate. This is what it means to be fully actualized. Today is the day for it.

The Devil

What motivates you? Why do you do the things you do? What makes you say “no” when in your heart you would rather say “yes?” Maybe there is some long forgotten and buried fear. Maybe so long ago you had an unpleasant experience that the current situation brings back echos of. Although this is from long ago in your history, this experience still lingers in your shadows, impacting your life today. What can you do about this? How can you get past this block? Face it head on. When fear stops you, stop only momentarily. Stop long enough to catch your breath, find the will, then move forward. Burrow through your fear to the other side. On the other side, you can look back and say, “That was nothing!” But you can’t do this until you are on the other side. of it. Be a bulldozer and trudge through your fears. Do it today!

The Devil (Secret Tarot)

This happens- we spend time feeling stress and pressure on us. This stress and pressure has a way of dominating us. Our true self gets pushed aside as the stress and pressure and worry and fears takes control of our daily life. These are shadows that cloud our authenticity. Our truth, which is represented by light, goes into darkness as we react to the stress and pressure. In time though, this stress and pressure will subside. Our true self begins to shine through the darkness once again. The clouds disperse and we are no longer in the shadows. Expect this today. Expect the clouds to go away. Expect to step out of the shadows.

The Devil

We all have these people from time to time, right? People who push our buttons. People who, for reasons we may or may not be able to explain, incite our anger? It’s a part of living to be around these people. It’s a part of sharing the planet. It’s a part of learning what we came to the earth to learn. In this case, becoming a master of our emotions. This is part of our awakening, our evolution, and if you like this word, our “enlightenment.” In order to be full and complete as spiritual beings, we must experience fully each emotion and learn to live with them. Repressing emotions does no good. This will only postpone the lesson that each has to offer. So, when we feel something such as anger or sadness, we must experience the full depth of them, just as we do with happiness and joy. When experienced fully, they no longer hold us back. So when anger rises, experience it. Do so in a productive way. Do not respond to anger with anger, but rather channel it into something productive. This is why certain people appear in our life. These “button pushers.” They are placed there to afford us the opportunity to experience fully the emotions we must experience to evolve. Perhaps today you will encounter, or identify such beings. Endure them as best you can, for they are important to you in countless ways.

The dual reality of the devil card

The Devil card in the Rider Waite tarot deck

We create our own reality. Yes. This is true. It happens though that sometimes we are seemingly trapped in a reality created jointly by others that have little or no bearing on a reality that we ourselves would create. That is to say, perhaps, you are in a situation where the actions and deeds of others is causing you much distress. This distress leads to frustration and disappointment…. continue
