Card of the Day- November 25, 2012

7 of Cups (Tarot of the New Vision)

It is fine to day dream, even encouraged much of the time. Having your head in the clouds, sometimes, is the best place for it. Dream. Fantasize. Imagine. Imagine the most ideal situation for yourself. We all do this. We all need this.Sometimes though, you really do need to come down to earth and pay attention to the practical matters of your life. Plant your feet on the ground and root in. Strong roots make for a strong foundation. The stronger your roots, the higher you are able to hold your head. Find balance between the world of fantasy and the practical matters of earthly life. This is to be strong. This is to appreciate what both worlds have to offer in equal measure. Gaining this balance allows for the blending and sharing of the best of both worlds.

2 of Swords

You don’t have to be defensive. People are not trying to put you down. They are simply trying to have honest and sincere communication with you. There is no reason to feel attacked. Listen to what they have to say and take it into consideration. It’s okay to let your guard down. It’s okay to open your heart. Take a chance and let people in. You’ll see they mean you no harm. All is well. Any and all problems exist only in your mind. Be open to others and hear what they have to say. It’s all good.

10 of Cups

Appreciate the people in your life today.  Take a few moments to reflect on who these people are exactly. Try to go beyond the immediate answer. If you are married and have kids, of course this is your family and these are the people you are going to appreciate. But that answer is too easy. Go beyond them. Who makes up the extended family of your life? Who are the people, those at a slightly greater distance from your core, that influence and participate in your life? This is your extended family. Co-workers, friends, but even beyond that, how about the person at Starbucks who always seems to be there when you go in? Do you ever say hello? What about the cashier who’s line you always seem to end up in? What about the person who delivers your mail? Are you a student? What about your classmates? Are you a teacher? What about your students? There are many people whose lives ripple outward and touch yours. Take a moment to appreciate them. Take moment to reflect on who they are. This will lead to a feeling of oneness and an appreciation of who you yourself are in the greater scheme of life as you see the connectedness of all beings.

Queen of Cups

Don’t give into anger. Be empathic and compassionate when dealing with others, especially with their feelings and their attitudes. They may seem unbearable, but try to see the situation through their eyes. What are they going through? Perhaps they have not yet learned to deal with problems in a constructive way. Maybe all they know to do is throw a tantrum. Be understanding. Be patient. Don’t respond to anger with anger. Observe anger and let it float by. Don’t add fuel to its fire.

Wheel of Fortune (Tarot of the New Vision)

Expect the unexpected, and expect it to be good. It may be some small thing, like somebody offers you a piece of cake. Maybe it is something big, like an unexpected promotion. Large or small, whatever it may be, be thankful for it. Show gratitude. Gratitude is, after all, the door to abundance. The more you express it, the more opportunities you will have to express it will come to you. So pay attention to your fortunes, be they monetary, material, or simply good vibes. They are all valuable and they are all worthwhile.

Card of the Day- August 8, 2012

Ace of Wands

Imagine the initial spark- inspiration of a great idea. This spark is worth becoming a fire. Feed this spark. Give it what it needs to grow. Give it attention. Give it fuel. Pay attention to it. Keep feeding it until it is an inferno. This is how great ideas become powerful institutions. They start with that initial spark of an idea, and then they are kept alive. They are not forgotten. They are not dismissed. Pay attention to the inspirations that come your way today. Bring them to life. Have the patience to allow them to become great. Feed them, nurture them, watch them grow. We all have the ability to be powerful creators. Tap into that power.

Card of the Day- August 7, 2012

Wheel of Fortune

Share your talents, your resources, your time, your energy. What better way to appreciate and enjoy what you have than by sharing it with others? If others need your help, find time to help them. What talents do you have that you can offer? Are you a healer? Offer your services to those in need of it. Are you a good listener? Be there for somebody who needs advice. What can you do for each other? What trades can you make? A tarot card reading for a massage? A Reiki treatment for tax advice? A poem for a ride to work? Fortune comes in many forms. It can be as simple as having something to offer. Offer what you can. What will you receive in return?

Page of Swords

You know what they say, “From the mouth of babes…” Be prepared to hear the truth spoken directly and unfiltered. You may be taken aback by the directness or the bluntness of it, but don’t let get it get to you. They are speaking without the filters that many speak through, simply because they are unaware of these filters. This could be the result of a cultural difference, a language barrier, an unawareness that certain words or phrases carry different implications than what they intended. If something said to you feels a little off or a little weird, keep these things in mind. No ill-intent was directed towards you. Just go with the flow.

Card of the Day- August 4, 2012

Queen of Cups

Have patience with others. They need you to. Just because they are not aware of how their actions are affecting others, it doesn’t mean you should respond in like fashion. Be the reasonable one. Be the calm one. Don’t respond to anger with anger. Respond to anger with compassion and understanding. Be the example of what  compassionate understanding can achieve. It may not be easy, but do it anyway. To master this skill is to gain the upper hand in any situation, and thus becoming a master of life on the planet.
